About Kathi ... 

Yoga helped Kathi through a big crises and reorientation she was experiencing in 2015. Since then it became a tool to calm her mind and create a routine she can come back to when feeling overwhelmed. Yoga became her medicine. She kept practicing and exploring all the different areas of it including meditation, pranayama and philosophy.

Kathi is registered with Yoga Alliance and has completed a 200 hrs Ashtanga & Vinyasa Training (actually she has completed 2, one online, one in person).
Since then Kathi has taught over 700 hours and has completed over 70 hours in extra trainings to specialize in different topics and teaching styles  (Breath is Life | Pranayama - Bandhas - Meditation course, Breathwork Instructor Course, 30 Hour Online Yin Yoga Teacher Training. 

Sharing the medicine of the conscious movements of yoga combined with the power of breath and stillness of meditation is one of her passions she loves to share with you. She teaches from the heart with the intention that it may help you the best possible way on your own journey.

What is Yin Yoga? 

We are starting this class with a grounding meditation and gentle pranayama. During our yin practice we dive into the energy of surrender and release as we hold poses for longer amounts of time and let go of any tension. This deep stretch is targeting deep and connective tissue, fascia, ligaments, joins and even bones. This very slow inward practice helps with releasing stress and anxiety as well as with improving flexibility and mobility. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system and provides the perfect counterbalance to an active or stressful lifestyle.

Duration of class: 75 minutes

What is Vinyasa Yoga?

Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing practice, moving with your breath though various poses in a flow-like sequence.

Join Kathi for a wonderful DEEP YIN AND YOGA NIDRA class EVERY SUNDAY 6.30 PM at Natura Cabana in Perla Marina. 

This is the perfect tiny Sunday evening retreat to take time for yourself, go deep within, surrender and let go. 

What is Yin Yoga? 

While “yang” yoga (Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga etc.) focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. 

The practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles which believe there are pathways (meridians) of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. By stretching and deepening into poses, we’re opening up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely.

A yin yoga sequence has a very similar effect on our energies as an acupuncture treatment. By holding the various poses, a yin yoga sequence can help restore the healthy flow of Qi in our bodies.

What is Yoga Nidra? 

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. It’s usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.

As we rest here, we can turn our attention easily and effortlessly to the very nature of awareness and consciousness. We start to experience the ‘deeper’ features of yogic teachings that previously we perhaps considered intangible, such as feeling our interconnected wholeness and becoming aware of our true, unified nature – expansive, inclusive, and deeply restful. 

Yoga Nidra takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self.

Gain Experience In A Safer Environment For Beginners

If you’re completely new to yoga you might find group classes a little overwhelming.In yoga, it’s absolutely imperative that you learn the basics correctly and ensure proper alignment. Without doing so, you’re at an increased risk of injury while doing yoga and no one wants that.

There is many reasons why someone is coming to a yoga class. From the intention to manage lower back pain, decreasing anxiety, getting muscle tone or recovering from injury. A private class is tailored exactly to your needs and goals, taking into account any possible injuries or conditions. 

Work around your schedule at a place of your choice 

Busy schedules are one of the top obstacles stopping people from taking care of their mental and physical health. Most group classes take place early in the morning before people go to work, or in the evening after the finish. If neither of those times works for you, it can be hard to fit your yoga in. A private class will be scheduled in the time and at the place that works for YOU.
