About the land
The land of Rebearth in Cabarete, DR
The land is 6,300 m² (1.5 acres) on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, in the area of La Catalina near Sabaneta.
It’s about 25 minutes from Cabarete or La Boca, and around 45 minutes from Puerto Plata airport—but once you’re here, it feels far away from everything.
A small river runs through the property, there’s green in every direction, and life moves at a different pace.
THE INTENTION
The goal with this land is simple: to work with nature, not against it.
Everything here is being built and developed using non-invasive permaculture and biodynamic principles, with a focus on sustainability, regeneration, and simplicity.
It’s about creating a space that feels good to be in—for people, animals, and the land itself.
Roots of the project
Before Rebearth, I lived off-grid in Portugal for over four years in a Mongolian yurt.
I collected rainwater, used solar energy, and learned a lot through both experience and a Permaculture Design Course. Living that way came with challenges—especially on dry land—but it gave me the foundation for what I’m creating here.
In the Dominican Republic, there’s something different: more water, more growth, more natural support from the environment.
This land makes it possible to take those same principles and expand them in a more abundant, tropical setting.
LIVING HERE
Being on the land means living close to nature—without overcomplicating things.
You might shower with water from the river, cook outside, or turn on a light powered by the sun.
You can rest in a hammock, walk barefoot, harvest what’s growing, or simply slow down.
If you want to, you can also be part of what’s being built—whether that’s permaculture projects, planting, or natural building.
There’s always something evolving here, and you’re welcome to experience it in your own way.
